๐Ÿ“˜ How fantasy works

๐ŸŸ๏ธ

What is fantasy sports?

In fantasy sports, you build a team out of real athletes from different pro teams. When those athletes do well in real games, your fantasy team earns points. Each week, your team goes head-to-head with a friend's team, and the higher score wins.

๐Ÿ“‹

The draft

Before the season starts, everyone in your league takes turns picking players. Once a player is drafted, no one else can have them. Most leagues use a snake draft: the order reverses every round, so whoever picks last in round 1 picks first in round 2. That keeps things fair.

๐Ÿ”ข

How scoring works

Every league has a scoring system that turns real stats into fantasy points. In football, that might mean points for touchdowns and yards. In basketball, it could be points, rebounds and assists. Rules differ between leagues, so read your league's settings before you draft.

๐Ÿ”„

Start or sit

Each week you set a lineup. Only starters earn points; players on your bench don't count. Before you lock it in, check three things: Is the player injured? Is their team on a bye week (not playing)? Are they facing a really strong defense?

๐Ÿค

Trades and free agents

You can trade players with another team in your league if you both agree. Players who weren't drafted are called free agents. You can pick one up by dropping someone from your roster. Following the news helps you spot who's hot or hurt.

Play it the right way

The best leagues are about friendly competition and learning the game. Win with class, lose without excuses, and keep trash talk light. Remember the athletes are real people. And fantasy for kids and teens should be free to play: no money, no betting.
